The approximate drive time to the airports is between 30 and 40 minutes. The surrounding villages of Ashtead, Bookham and Fetcham offer local shops whilst Epsom and Dorking Town Centres are 6 miles either side of Leatherhead. Larger shopping centres in Guildford, Kingston & Sutton are only a 20 minute drive away and offer large department stores.

| Leatherhead is situated within easy reach of the London Orbital Route (M25), allowing access to main road links into central London. You are also within a 15 - 20 minute drive of the English countryside. Main Line train services operate into London Waterloo, Victoria and London Bridge stations with a journey time of approximately 40 minutes. Once in London you have immediate access to the London Underground system. Being situated near junction 9 of the M25, you are between London’s Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. | |

For parents with children of school ages there are many excellent Private and State schools as well as the American Community School at Cobham which is only about 3 miles away. City of London Freeman’s, St John's, Downsend and Epsom College are just some of the private schools in the area. |
The State secondary schools of Therfield, Howard of Effingham and Ashcombe all have excellent reputations. Younger children are also well catered for with many excellent day nurseries and primary schools.

There are excellent sports facilities with golfers particularly well served. As well as the public courses, there are many private clubs who welcome visitors. Centre at Leatherhead. There is a David Lloyd Centre in Epsom and a complete sports complex including ice rink and athletics track at the Guildford Spectrum. Local clubs are always willing to welcome new players to their clubs. The South Coast can be reached in approximately one hour’s drive, giving access to sailing and other water sports. There is also an American Women in Surrey Group with a very active social calendar. |

Countryside
Whilst being convenient for commuting into London, the area also has the added attraction of being close to the heart of the Surrey countryside. There are several National Trust Properties to visit such as Box Hill, Leith Hill, Polesden Lacey and Claremont Gardens. Denbies Wine Estate is just a few minutes drive from Leatherhead. Each surrounding village/town has its own local shops and amenities. There are larger shopping centres in Kingston, Guildford, Epsom and Sutton all of which are with in a 10 - 25 minute drive.
